Poikaset kuoriutuivat toissapäivänä. Nyt näyttää siltä että pesässä on viisi tai kuusi pienokaista.

The baby birds hatched the day before yesterday. It seems that there are five or six chicks in the nest at the moment. Here's a a condensed one hour video from the time when the hatching was still going on.

Hautominen jatkuu - Incubating goes on

Munien hautominen jatkuu, eikä häiriköitä ole näkynyt. Toivotaan että kaikke menee hyvin. Oheisessa videopätkässä koirassieppo syöttää naarasta hautomisen aikana. The incubation period continues and no troublemakers have been seen on the camera. Let's hope that everything goes well. In the above video clip, the male flycatcher feeds the incubating female in the nest. Since the video recording is motion triggered, the still periods have been automatically cut out and the female appears much more restless than in real life.
